Flagstaff is a nice stop along the way to see the grand canyon

Flagstaff is way up in the mountains, with an elevation of about 6800 ft. This keeps it much, much cooler than Phoenix. It is close to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and home to Northern Arizona University. It’s an extremely livable city with a nice downtown. A lot of people complain about Phoenicians coming in and driving up the prices.
